The world of business is both complicated and interconnected, perhaps due to the many unknowns that accompany such a versatile environment– for example, it was hard to predict that the worst recession since the Great Depression would happen in 2020, and once it hit, that entire economies would change on a dime. Analyzing and understanding these relationships is vitally important in business, but opportunities to investigate such connections can be difficult to find and limited in scope. The Undergraduate Business Review aims to resolve this challenge by providing a space for students to research and craft compositions addressing real-world issues. Whether examining the impact of tax legislation on executive planning or the factors that impact entrepreneurial success, the Undergraduate Business Review will present students at the University of Connecticut with a chance to dive deep into this fascinating world and investigate ongoing discussions regarding the economy, government, workplace, and beyond. Every edition, published on a semesterly basis, will seek to connect business students and the UConn community with real-world developments, while simultaneously providing a forum for student ideas. We are excited to bring this opportunity to students not only in the School of Business, but for students of all UConn programs and all locations, and to see the ingenuity, breadth, and depth of arguments presented in our publications.
While planning for the first edition of the UConn Business Review is still in its infancy, we are moving ahead with preparations for the publication of our first edition soon. That being said, we are looking to recruit both staff writers and an editorial staff. Staff writers are responsible for preparing a long-form essay on a business topic of their choice, and the editorial staff will work with the staff writers on revising drafts and with the editorial team on preparing the review for its semesterly publication.
