  • The Health Perks of Pets

67% of US households own a pet and there’s a reason why! The joy of coming home to a loyal companion and the unconditional love of a pet are just a few of the upsides of pet ownership. Some of the biggest benefits of having pets correlates to our health. Owning a pet may decrease stress, improve heart health, and even help children with their emotional and social skills.

    How Animals Enrich Our Lives:

    • Dogs help children with ADHS focus their attention
    • Playing with guinea pigs make children with autism spectrum disorder calmers in the classroom
    • Caring for fish helps teens with diabetes better manage their disease
