  • Participants Wanted for Paid Research Study

    VOLUNTEER STUDY PARTICIPANTS WANTED for a paid research study being completed by the Korey Stringer Institute at the University of Connecticut.

     

    The purpose of this study is to determine the usefulness of neck cooling collar (NeuroRescue Inc.). Specifically, 

    a. Does using the neck cooling collar affect the core body temperature (rectal/esophageal temperature) and heart rate during exercise in the heat? 

    b. Does using the neck cooling collar change perpetual responses during exercise in the heat? 

    c. Does using the neck cooling collar improve the duration of exercise performance?

     

    Eligibility Requirements:

    • Healthy males between the ages of 18 – 35 years old
    • Physically active individuals (confirmed with VO2max minimum of 45 ml/kg/min) with no prior

    history of adverse reactions to the heat

     

    Participation will involve approximately 8.5 hours of your time within approximately two weeks (Baseline visit, 3 exercise trials). This study was approved by UConn IRB, Protocol #21-0053 under the advisement of Principal Investigator Dr. Douglas Casa.
