Happy Valentine's Day from UCSB
Interested in learning how to dance? UConn Swing & Blues teaches beginner-friendly dance lessons every Tuesday! Swing dance is a culmination of dance styles created by the African American dance community, originating from the Harlem Renaissance in 1920s New York City, encompassing everything from Charleston to Lindy Hop to Jive.
Join us for some in-person lessons this week at the Storrs Congregational Church Parish House (directions on Facebook)! This week, we'll be teaching the Charleston, and a lesson on body rolls. Lessons are capped at 25 people (UConn Storrs students only), first come first serve!
All levels of dance experience are welcome. Don't feel comfortable attending in-person? Learn how to dance from the comfort of your dorm, no partners required! We are an LGBTQ+ safe space. Lessons are free to watch, and moderators will be answering questions to the best of their abilities. Check our Facebook out for our in-person lesson COVID-19 regulations!
