You are invited to recognize and nominate outstanding undergraduate students enrolled at UConn who were active members of The UConn Western Team during the past academic year as part of the University’s 2021 Student Life Awards.
Award Background/History: This scholarship was established in 2020 by donors Xiaobin Ding and Zhiqiang Shang in memory of their daughter to support members of The UConn Western Team, a group of talented and dedicated students who share a passion for equestrian sports.
Award Description: This scholarship recognizes a member(s) of the University’s Western Team who demonstrates and encourages outstanding sportsmanship and character. Recipient(s) will have exemplified critical elements of sportsmanship and character including but not limited to integrity, selflessness, team spirit/support, and personal determination to improve. Furthermore, recipients of this scholarship demonstrate a positive representation of The UConn Western Team at the horse barn, at competitions, and in the larger community. Please note that athletic performance (points and other stats) will not factor into the selection process
