2015-16 Fulbright Scholar Program for Faculty

The Core Fulbright Scholar Program for the 2014-15 academic year opened on February 1. Lecturing and research awards are available for some 140 countries for university faculty and administrators. While foreign language skills are needed in some countries, most Fulbright lecturing assignments are in English.

With the launch of the 2014-15 Core Fulbright Scholar Program competition, restrictions regarding previous Fulbright experiences will no longer be a prohibitive factor in applying for a Fulbright Scholar grant.  Lifetime limit restrictions that were implemented beginning in June of 2006 have now been lifted.  However, as stipulated in section 624.2 of the Fulbright Program Policies, general preference for Fulbright Scholar opportunities will continue to be given to candidates who have not previously received a Fulbright Scholar grant.

Core Fulbright awards are available from two months to an academic year or longer. The Fulbright Specialists Program offers two-to-six-week grants in a variety of disciplines and fields. The application deadline for 2015-16 Core Fulbright awards is August 1, 2014. Applications to the Fulbright Specialists Program are accepted on a rolling basis.

The Fulbright Scholar Program is sponsored by the U.S Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Information application forms for the traditional Fulbright program, the Senior Specialists program, and other Fulbright opportunities are available at http://www.cies.org/.
