AT THE BENTON
TONIGHT at 7 PM
Screening and Discussion of "Diary of a Student Revolution," a public television documentary chronicling ten days of student protests on the Storrs campus in 1968.
On-campus employment recruiting by Dow Chemical sparked a dramatic struggle between then-President Homer D. Babbidge and student protesters. The film includes footage of University administrators discussing how to end the protests, students developing their strategies, and scenes from the protests that were organized by the UConn chapter of SDS [Students for a Democratic Society].
The film is being shown in conjunction with the Benton's exhibition MAKING THE MOVEMENT MOVE: PHOTOGRAPHY, STUDENT ACTIVISM, AND CIVIL RIGHTS.
