  • Service Impacts from Cable Dig

During a cable dig on Thursday, November 19 in the construction area for Science 1, damage was done to a duct bank that contains cabling for network, voice, and television. ITS has not received reports of service outages yet, but we anticipate impacts to voice, which includes blue phones, elevator phones, and fire alarms, and cable television. Some locations may lose network connectivity. The following buildings may have service disruptions:

    • Alumni House
    • Burton Football/Shenkman
    • Ellsworth Hall
    • Field House
    • Garrigus Suites
    • Hale Hall
    • Hilltop Community Center, including all 13 apartment buildings
    • Ice Arena
    • ITEB
    • Lodewick Visitor's Center
    • North Parking Garage
    • Putnam Refectory
    • Softball Pressbox
    • Werth Residence Hall

ITS is monitoring voice, video, and data service and will communicate outages on itstatus.uconn.edu. We are also working closely with contractors to assess damage and determine how to repair the infrastructure.
