  • 11/20 The Intersections of the Political and Environment

    The livestream event will take place on Friday, November 20th from 2-3pm EST. The panel features: Dr.Prakash Kashwan, an interdisciplinary social scientist, here at Uconn, with expertise in researching the intersection of inequality, environment, and development, specifically in the context of environmental policy, climate justice, climate governance, and global development.  Scott Walace, an associate professor of journalism at the University of Connecticut and frequent contributor to National Geographic, whose research focuses on the struggles of Indigenous peoples to preserve their cultures and land rights in contentious frontier regions around the world. 

    The panel will be discussing the historical and current Political and Environmental Effects that affect Native and Indigenous people in the United States and globally.
