Student Organization Events & Information

  • 11/7 Seeking Proposals LID 2020 Conference

Leadership in Diversity, a student organization that works to support students of color in the field of education, is hosting our Fifth Annual Multicultural Education and Culturally Responsive Teaching Conference on November 7th, 2020.

Our theme this year, Reframing the Picture: A New Vision for Our Students, was inspired by the start of a new decade. Being that it is 2020, we wanted to link the phrase “2020 vision” to the theme of our conference. As we thought deeper about 2020 vision, we saw it as an opportunity to focus our attention on the importance of student voice and identity. The aim of our conference is to uplift and provide clarity to educators and professionals in the field of education.

This is a conference for professionals in the education field, current students in teacher prep programs and those interested in the field of education. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend breakout sessions on a variety of topics related to multicultural education and culturally responsive teaching. The conference will open with remarks from our keynote speaker Dr. Gholdy Muhummad.

More information about the conference, how to register, and our keynote speaker is attached. We ask that you share this information with those who might be interested, as this is a great opportunity for personal growth and professional development!
