  • 10/14 WHUS Zine: Call for Creatives

    Hey!

Are you an art student trying to build your portfolio? Are you a writer? Are you just looking for a community of creatives to hang out with? If yes, then the WHUS Zine sounds like the perfect place for you! Since 2017, WHUS has been publishing a magazine full of student artwork and writing. Our goal is to highlight hidden talent and unique perspectives at UConn. This semester we are working on an issue that is intended to put both the artist and the reader outside their comfort zone.

We are seeking written and visual work that goes beyond society's perception of normal. The submission should challenge you artistically and mentally while also making the intended audience uncomfortable in some way. This could range from unique political or personal statements, unsettling photos, abstract artwork, to anything unfamiliar to the general public. Anyone can submit content, you don’t need to be a member of WHUS or have any prior artistic education/experience.

The informational meeting for the Fall 2020 edition of the WHUS Zine will be held over Google Meet on Wednesday, October 14th, at 6:30PM. In this meeting we will be introducing the Zine, it’s theme, submission guidelines, deadlines, and setting plans for future meetings. If you are interested in attending the meeting, please email the contact below for the link

If you aren’t interested in attending meetings, but would still like to submit content to be included in the Zine, please read the following guidelines and submit your work to our online dropbox by November 20th. Any work submitted after November 20th is not guaranteed to be included.
