Microbial Analysis Research Technician
Microbial Analysis, Resources and Services Facility (MARS)
The MARS facility has an opening for Research Technicians, who will be involved in monitoring SARS-CoV2 from a variety of sample types. The technicians will be responsible for sample collection and processing under the supervision of the facility scientist. The ideal candidate will be able to work full-time; however exceptionally qualified individuals interested in part-time work while classes are in session may be considered.
Required qualifications:
* Attention to detail
* Ability to track multiple work flows simultaneously
* Self-directed after initial training phase
* Excellent written and oral communication
* Experience with molecular techniques (DNA/RNA extraction and/or PCR)
Preferred qualifications
* Experience working independently in a molecular lab
* Experience working with 10s or 100s of samples
* Experience with qPCR or ddPCR
* UConn Lab Safety, Biosafety, and Blood Born Pathogen certification
