I write today to recognize the exceptional leadership of Monica Rudzik, Director of the Student Union, as she prepares to retire from UConn, effective August 1, 2020. Monica joined the UConn community in the summer of 2006 as the first director of the newly renovated Student Union. Upon her arrival she shared her vision of what an outstanding experience would look like for visitors to the Student Union and she has been tirelessly working to fulfil that vision ever since. Her student-centered focus, dedication to her staff and the experiences they created for guests have been the hallmark of her tenure. Her leadership has ensured that the Student Union remains current and relevant for our students and her diligent commitment to creating a quality experience will live on.
