Human Resources and Benefits

  • Reconsideration & Reclassification Reminder

As a reminder, Human Resources is currently accepting both Reconsideration Requests and Reclassifications for employees in positions covered by UCPEA.

Reconsideration gives employees the opportunity to ask Human Resources to re-evaluate their mapping in Career Paths. Employees will need to complete a brief form to formally submit for reconsideration. Employees who are re-mapped to a new Job Template via the Reconsideration Process will only receive a salary adjustment  if they are below the minimum of their new salary band. The salary adjustment will encompass the retroactive period between January 31 - July 2, 2020. Reconsideration requests will only be accepted between July 1 – August 31, 2020. Completed forms must be submitted via email to hr-communications@uconn.edu.

Reclassification is when an employee and/or supervisor believes there have been significant changes in the duties being performed on a regular basis and outside of the position’s current Career Paths classification. An approved reclassification results in the employee moving to a new Job Template and Job Title and, when applicable, a contractual salary increase. Human Resources resumed accepting reclassification requests on July 3, 2020. Employees should complete a form with a current organizational chart and resume, and submit it via email to workforce@uconn.edu.

It is important to note that employees may participate in both Reconsideration and Reclassification. However, employees must await the decision of their Reconsideration request before moving forward with Reclassification.
