    Part 1 Description:

The two part series is designed as a springboard for rethinking assessment strategies in a variety of disciplinary settings, and is grounded in good practices in course design.

During the first part of the series we will discuss some of the options available within HuskyCT for assessing student performance in your course, but it is not intended to be a detailed walkthrough of HuskyCT functionality. (If that is your interest, please attend a workshop with a focus on the assessment features available within the course management system. You can find CETL-EdTech sessions and other offers at fins.uconn.edu.)

In the 30 min Introduction to Online Assessment participants will:

    1.     Examine how your course objectives are supported by best practices in assessment when teaching remotely

    2.     Gain confidence in setting up a range of assessment strategies in Husky CT

    Part 2 Description:

The two part series is designed as a springboard for rethinking assessment strategies in a variety of disciplinary settings, and is grounded in good practices in course design.

During the second part of the series we will discuss how HuskyCT can be used for assessing student performance in remote instruction. We will consider how the expectation that students attend a set class time (synchronous) or allowing more flexibility (asynchronous options) influences assessment options. The focus will be on 1-2 low stakes formative assessments and 1-2 summative assessment strategies.

The session is not intended to be a detailed walkthrough of HuskyCT functionality.(If  that is your interest, please attend a workshop with a focus on the assessment features available within the course management system. You can find CETL-EdTech sessions and other offers at fins.uconn.edu.)

During Revisiting Online Assessment participants will:

    1.    Review your course objectives and assessment strategy when teaching remotely

    2.    Manage assessment strategies in Husky CT aligned with your objectives and student skill level you want to assess

    3.     Explore alternative options for assessment strategies beyond traditional exams in a range of disciplines
