Policy and Compliance Information

  • Consulting During the COVID-19 Epidemic

ATTN: UConn Health Deans, Department Heads, and Faculty,

During the period in which teaching and much of the other operations of UConn are virtual due to COVID-19, your employee status with the university has not changed. Therefore, the same rules around the amount of time that you can consult will be unchanged during this period.

    Please note:

    · Approval to consult does not in any way provide an override to current restrictions by state or federal governments that may be in place with regard to travel. The University is also strongly recommending against any international travel at the current time, particularly since there may be implications for your ability to report to work. If you have any questions about travel and consulting, please reach out to Scott Wetstone (wetstone@uchc.edu or Elizabeth Morrison (emorrison@uchc.edu) to discuss your particular circumstances.

    · If you have an approved consulting activity that is postponed and in whole or in part and will now fall into the next fiscal year, you will need to submit a new consulting request that covers the work done in the next fiscal year.

    · If you have an approved consulting activity that utilizes normal work time and the dates of the normal work time have changed, you will need written approval (email is fine) from your department head level approver for any new dates used.

    · Please remember you can reconcile any previous request that has been completed or that has been cancelled.

    Thank you,

    Scott Wetstone & Elizabeth Morrison
