  • 4/1 Call for Student Presentations: 3rd Annual ACSW

Please circulate the information below about the Aetna Celebration of Student Writing to UConn undergraduate/graduate students! The ACSW is a great opportunity for them to receive recognition for their writing and participate in a poster fair ("conference-style" presentations).

What is the Aetna Celebration of Student Writing?

The Aetna Celebration of Student Writing (ACSW) is an annual UConn event held by the Aetna Chair of Writing to showcase student writing work and writing-related research. Students present their writing work completed in writing-intensive UConn courses (First-Year Writing, “W” courses) and/or research on the subject of writing, rhetoric, or a related topic. Individual and group projects are accepted.

The ACSW opens with a poster fair, where students present their work first to a circulating panel of faculty judges and then to the public. The judges create awards based on the selection of projects that are presented each year. The poster fair awards are then announced at the reception that follows.

Why should students submit to the Aetna Celebration of Student Writing?

Submitting to the ACSW is a great opportunity for students to showcase their writing work, meet other writers and creators from across the campus, and to potentially win university-wide recognition and a cash prize. Students can also gain "conference-style" presentation experience discussing their work/research before faculty judges.
