  • 4/24 Cultivate: Life-Transformative Education Workshop

    Dear Colleagues:

As you know, one of President Katsouleas’ top priorities is to extend life-transformative learning opportunities to all students. We will be holding a workshop to kick-off this initiative for the UConn community on April 24th. At this workshop we hope to build an initial community of educators who will infuse life-transformative education (LTE) across UConn. Our ultimate goal is to assure that every one of our 24,000 undergraduate students can have a LTE experience while at UConn, either because they know that one or more faculty or staff cares about them as a person and/or they have the opportunity to apply what they are learning beyond the classroom.

Currently, we have many faculty and staff who are already engaged in LTE, and our goal is to bring many of these individuals (up to 150 faculty and staff) together at our inaugural event: Cultivate: A Workshop to Inspire, Develop, and Empower Life-Transformative Educators at UConn. We encourage you to nominate faculty or staff for the LTE kick-off event on Friday, April 24th. We expect this to be an exciting day, with three university presidents, including Tom Katsouleas, speaking to participants, along with interactive activities to engage with the concept of LTE and to begin the work of scaling this up for all of our students.

The nomination form for faculty and staff can be found here: https://forms.gle/p467nDEKwH8gDEQV6

Faculty and staff can also self-nominate through this same form. The deadline for submission of nominations is Wednesday, March 11, 2020.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thank you,

    John
