Adam Alter is the New York Times bestselling author of two books and an Associate Professor of Marketing and Psychology at New York University's Stern School of Business. Alter’s most recent book, IRRESISTIBLE, examines why fifty percent of the population is addicted to at least one tech-driven behavior, like checking email and social media, playing video games, and gambling. His first book, DRUNK TANK PINK, explores how subtle forces around us, including weather conditions and colors, influence how we think, feel, and behave. His research focuses on behavioral economics, marketing, and the psychology of judgment and decision-making. Adam has written for the New Yorker, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, Slate, and WIRED, has spoken at the annual TED conference in Vancouver, and at the Cannes Creativity Festival, and has consulted for dozens of companies and non-profits around the globe.
