This semester's first Long River Reading Series event will be another rendition of the "UConn Writes" Poetry Reading and Open Mic. This reading will take place on Tuesday, March 3 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Stern Lounge (Austin 217). The last gathering was very successful, with many audience members contributing to the open mic and lots of pizza being consumed! This meeting will feature extended readings from English graduate student Sophie Buckner and undergraduate Nicole Catarino, a short informational session about the Long River Review (with copies of previous editions available for sale), and plenty of time for open mic contributions! And yes, there will once again be free pizza, snacks, and other refreshments. We encourage anyone and everyone to bring a piece of poetry, prose, or music to share in this comfortable and welcoming setting.
