Seeking Individuals with Mouth or Throat Lesions That Require a Biopsy
Dr. Lalla of the UConn School of Dental Medicine, is seeking individuals with a soft tissue lesion of the mouth or throat that is requiring a biopsy, to participate in a research study. The study is testing whether an investigational, non-invasive device using saliva can help in the decision whether to biopsy a lesion or not.
You may qualify if:
- You are 23 years of age or older.
- You or a healthcare provider have noticed an unusual area of the mouth or throat that requires a biopsy.
- You have not been diagnosed or treated for head and neck cancer.
- You have not been diagnosed or treated for any cancer in the last 5 years, other than basal cell or squamous cell cancer of the skin.
- You are not pregnant.
Eligible participant will be compensated for their time with a $100.00 American Express gift card per study visit. Participants will only be required to attend one study visit prior to their biopsy.
