  • 11/21 Food Drive at GSS Thanksgiving

In an Inside Higher Ed survey, 41 percent of 4-year university students responded that they are food insecure. UConn does not currently have an established food pantry for students to access. As a part of a larger effort to combat food insecurity on our campus, the Diversity Committee of the English Graduate Student Association is hosting a food drive in conjunction with the Graduate Student Senate's annual Thanksgiving Luncheon. At both lunch seatings, we will be collecting non-perishable food items (e.g., boxed or canned foods) or toiletries (e.g., shampoo, deodorant, body wash, bars of soap, shaving items, feminine hygiene products, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, dish soap, toothbrushes) to donate to Mansfield Human Services

If you have questions or are interested in joining our efforts to combat food insecurity, please contact Paula Weinman (paula.weinman@uconn.edu) or Darby Lacey (darby.lacey@uconn.edu).
