  • 10/18 Apply to be a McNair Undergrad STEM Researcher

    Hello, UConn students!

    My name is Dr. Renee Gilberti. I am the Program Coordinator of the UConn McNair Scholars Program.

    As a sophomore or junior STEM major, if you are interested in getting involved in a research project in a STEM discipline, and considering graduate school as a next academic goal, I encourage you to consider applying!

    If you plan to apply, please email me ASAP at renee.gilberti@uconn.edu so I can answer any questions you may have and schedule an interview date.

    Students will build professional development, science writing, and research presentation communication skills, and will have access to 1:1 mentoring at the McNair office and assistance with all steps of the graduate school application process. The application is due on Friday, October 18, 2019 by 12 noon & letters of recommendation by Wednesday, October 23, 2019.

    Please review the eligibility requirements before proceeding. As part of UConn’s TRIO programs, students are eligible for McNair if they are seeking to pursue a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a STEM field of study and are:

    (a)  low-income, first-generation college students

    and/or

    (b)  self-identify as underrepresented racial or ethnic groups in STEM graduate fields
