  • Call for a Research Assistant

We are starting a research project (“Tilting at Windmills? Electoral repercussions of wind turbine projects in the United States”) to study the siting of wind turbine projects in the United States and their electoral consequences. We are looking for a graduate student for the 2019-2020 academic year and the summer of 2020, who can help us with GIS mapping of turbine project locations and legislative electoral district shape files. We also expect the student to know how to use some advanced statistical package (e.g., Stata, R, or Python) to help us run statistical tests. We have funding to cover a student for 10 hours per week and $2000 (wages) for the summer. Ideally, you could start in the Fall, but we might be able to delay the start until Spring.  If you are interested, please contact Oksan.bayulgen@uconn.edu or lyle.scruggs@uconn.edu by Sept 6th.
