  • UCPEA One-Time and Performance-Based Awards

Pursuant to Article 32 of the UCPEA Collective Bargaining Agreement, effective July 1, 2019, employees in positions covered by UCPEA will be eligible to receive a one-time performance award (OTPA) and/or a performance-based compensation (PBC) award in acknowledgement of the applicable criteria of each award.

Awards are subject to the approval of the applicable Division Head (President, Provost, or Executive Vice President for Administration & Chief Financial Officer).

    One Time Performance Award

Supervisors may recommend employees who receive an evaluation of “Good” or better for a One-Time Performance Award (OTPA). OTPAs are issued in lump sum awards between $1,000 and $5,000. Eligible employees must exhibit (1) extraordinary job-related achievement AND/OR (2) completion of a specific and important departmental or University goal or project during the evaluation period (May 1, 2018 – April 30, 2019).

    Performance Based-Compensation

Supervisors may recommend employees who receive an evaluation of “Good” or better for a Performance Based Compensation Award (PBC). PBCs are issued to the employee’s base salary (employees at or above the maximum salary for their UCPEA level will receive a lump sum). Eligible employees must exhibit a level of performance that consistently exceeds the performance of peers and advances the mission and goals of the Department and the University during the evaluation period (May 1, 2018 – April 30, 2019).

    Recommendation Process

Supervisors of employees who are in positions covered by UCPEA will submit their recommendations to the appropriate Organizational Heads (Vice President, Vice Provost, Associate or Assistant VP, etc.) no later than April 30, 2019.

Organizational Heads will review and vet supervisor recommendations and submit all recommendations to Division Heads no later than May 15, 2019.
