  • Hip Fracture Recovery Study Now Enrolling

    Did you know after hip fracture, over 75% of older adults never return to their pre-fracture level of daily function and mobility? The STEP-Hi Study at UConn Health is testing strategies that may help improve function in women after hip fracture.

    Who Can Participate?

    • Women with a recent hip fracture

    • Ages 65 years or older

    • Willing to participate in a supervised exercise program and/or take a hormone medication, for 6 months (Transportation provided to all research visits and exercise sessions)

    This study, Combining Testosterone Therapy and Exercise to Improve Function Post Hip Fracture, is a multisite trial and being led by George Kuchel MD, Richard Fortinsky PhD, & Jenna Bartley PhD at UConn Health, Center on Aging.  IRB#O18-075-2
