  • 2/19 Life on Parole -Documentary Screening & Discussion

Please join us Tuesday, February 19th, at 6pm in Dodd Center, Konover Auditorium for a screening and discussion of Life on Parole.

Life on Parole is a 54 minute documentary produced in Connecticut in 2017 with the cooperation of the Department of Corrections and in collaboration with the New York Times and PBS's Frontline. It follows several former prisoners released on parole, showing in stark detail the punitive rules under which they live. The film chronicles the challenges faced by the newly released prisoners as they try to find homes and jobs, reconnect with loved ones and avoid temptation, sometimes discovering that the system created to help them can also hold them back.

The film will be followed by a conversation with Daryl McGraw, a former parolee who now works with people in recovery, Andrew Clark, Director of the Institute for Municipal and Regional Policy at Central Connecticut State University, as well as other guests.

This program is in collaboration with: Thomas J. Dodd Research Center, Student Activities' Community Outreach, Human Rights Institute, Humanities Institute, Hartford Listens, and IMRP.
