UConn Student parking, both permit and validation, in the Convention Center and Science Center garages will be SUSPENDED from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Thursday (2/21) and Friday (2/22).
The workday suspension of UConn transponder AND validation privileges (7AM – 5PM) in these two facilities is related to the CT Flower & Garden Show that is being held at the Convention Center on these days.
During these suspension periods, UConn student permit and validation parking will be accommodated on the surface parking lot at 18 Pequot Street (map).
The Pequot Street lot is located about 9/10th mile north of the campus.
Free shuttle service between the Convention Center Garage and the Pequot Lot will be provided during the following hours:
FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE (~10-minute frequency)
Thursday - 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Friday - 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Remember that you will need to drive from your home to the 18 Pequot Street Lot next Thursday and Friday and then take the free shuttle to the Convention Center stop (located within the garage).
The free continuous loop shuttles trip between the Pequot Street lot and the Convention is relatively short, but there will be a lot of street traffic on these days because of the Show.
Please mark your calendars and plan your time accordingly.
You might consider using your U-Pass on these days. As you probably know U-Passes provide free use of many public transit services including CT transit & CT transit Express. If you don’t already have one, you can still order one today. Fulfilled U-Pass orders are mailed, so you will need to place your order immediately in order to have on in hand by next Thursday!
