Volunteer Opportunities

  • Volunteer for low-income families: WAIM

WAIM is a non-profit organization that provides services to low-income families in the greater Windham area. WAIM supports the community with a household goods redistribution program, providing free clothing in furniture to those in need.

Volunteers have the opportunity to sort incoming donations, organize, register clients, and assist with tasks. WAIM also supports families through a community garden, Back to School Program, Special Holiday Programs, and Financial Assistance Programs for utilities, rent, and other unmet needs. This is a great opportunity to interact with the community, and see the organization of a successful non-profit.

Volunteer slots are available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 am-12 pm.

WAIM is run through UConn Community Outreach and transportation is provided!
