The Women's Center Presents:
Claire Smith – A Trailblazer for Women in Sports Media
Claire Smith was at the forefront of a revolution in sports writing; a pioneer who did not knock down clubhouse doors, but righteously persisted until they opened. Ms. Smith, currently an ESPN news editor, is the first woman Major League Baseball beat writer and first woman to win the prestigious J.G. Taylor Spink Award, presented annually by National Baseball Hall of Fame.
