Dr. Lalla of the UConn School of Dental Medicine is seeking individuals with any soft tissue lesion of the mouth or throat to participate in a research study. The study tests whether a non-invasive, investigational device using saliva can help in the decision whether to biopsy a lesion or not.
You may qualify if:
- You are 23 years of age or older.
- You or a healthcare provider have noticed an unusual area of the mouth or throat (areas can be raised or flat, suspicious or non-suspicious).
- You have not been diagnosed or treated for cancer in the last 5 years.
- You have never had a biopsy of the mouth or throat.
- You are not pregnant.
Eligible participants will be compensated for their time with a $25.00 American Express gift card and a $25.00 travel reimbursement check per study visit. Participants may be asked to attend up to 2 study visits.
