  • 10/24 Tertulia:The Uncertain Future of PR's Energy Grid

Tertulia al Mediodia (Conversation at Noon) with Ruth Santiago

The Uncertain Future of Puerto Rico’s Energy Grid: Business as Usual versus Community Proposals.

On September 20th, 2017 Hurricane María demolished Puerto Rico’s “notoriously fragile” electrical power infrastructure, leaving the whole island without power, in many places for months. Based on her collaboration with the Comité Diálogo Ambiental, a community organization of residents of southeastern Puerto Rico, Santiago will talk about what kinds of collaborative engagement and common vision will be required to implement sustainable energy and economic solutions to the island’s future challenges.
