  • Apply Now: Rural Poverty Appalachia Alt Break

This week-long spring break trip to Cosby, Tennessee in the Appalachia region is focused on  rural poverty awareness, and learning about underlying problems that contribute to it. We will be staying with our community partner Sunset Gap, a mission camp nestled in the mountains of Cosby. Participants will serve throughout the week taking part in projects such as warehouse organization, working in the thrift store, construction projects and serving meals at Feed My Sheep, a local food kitchen. This alternative break offers many opportunities to build bonds with a wide variety of people and for participants to expand their comfort zones through reflections and team building. Do not miss out on your chance to take part in an alternative break you will never forget. This trip includes eight pre-trip meetings and one or two post-trip meetings.
