Please join us for an exciting evening of big band and small group jazz at the Ballard Institute Theater in Storrs Center on Tuesday, Oct. 2nd at 7:00 P.M. The concert will feature the 19-piece UConn Jazz Ensemble, directed by John Mastroianni and four separate combos, directed by Earl MacDonald, Doug Maher and Gregg August. This varied premier program of the 2018/19 season will serve as a benchmark for discerning how far the jazz students progress by semester’s end. The concert includes music by John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, Sonny Rollins, Horace Silver and Kenny Dorham.
