  • Aging & Genetics Research Study Volunteers Needed

    The UConn Center on Aging is teaming up with The Jackson Laboratory to gain a better understanding of the aging process that could possibly help lead to the development of new treatments which promote health and independence in old age. The purpose of this study is to explore how aging and frailty are impacted by our genetic makeup.

     To Be Eligible:

    • Men and Women of specific age groups will be recruited from age 30 and older.

    • Not have any Heart Disease, Known Kidney Disease, No Immunosuppressive diseases or on any Immunosuppressive therapy

    • Participants must be willing to come in 1 study visit where blood will be drawn and physical testing, such as a short walking test and upper body strength, are conducted.

    We will ask you to come in for one study visit where questions about your health history will be asked, and 3 ½ Tablespoons of blood will be drawn. Volunteers that complete the study will be reimbursed $50 for their participation.
