UConn Health IT is monitoring two recently disclosed security vulnerabilities that affect virtually all types of computing devices, including laptops, workstations, tablets, mobile phones and medical devices. If successfully exploited, these vulnerabilities would allow programs to steal data being processed on a device. This could result in the disclosure of confidential information, such as patient data, credit card numbers, passwords, etc.
To reduce the ability for these vulnerabilities to be exploited on UConn Health systems, IT will be applying security updates to all UConn Health computing devices. These updates will occur over the coming weeks, and may require your system(s) to be restarted multiple times.
Please assist us in protecting our systems and data by allowing these critical updates to install and by rebooting systems when prompted.
