Do you have plaque psoriasis of the scalp and body?
Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition with no known cure. It usually appears as dry, red, scaly patches on the skin. It can make the skin itch, burn, and flake. Plaque psoriasis of the scalp is often hard to treat as the skin of the scalp is relatively inaccessible. This makes the use of topical medications difficult and inconvenient.
The Department of Dermatology at UConn Health is conducting a research study testing an investigational oral drug compared to placebo for moderate to severe plaque psoriasis of the scalp. To qualify for this study, participants must have psoriasis that covers at least 20% of their scalp (or 1 full handprint) and at least 10% of their body (or 10 full handprints).
