Flu season is almost here so once again it’s time for us to protect ourselves and those with whom we interact. This year’s Flu Vaccination Program will be available at no charge to all staff, students, volunteers, residents, and contract workers.
Influenza immunization data reporting is a Centers for Medicaid and Medicare requirement as of January 1, 2013. In order for UConn Health to be in compliance, it is mandatory that all staff, students and volunteers submit their influenza vaccination status for the 2017 - 2018 immunization season. This information is maintained in a password-protected database for documentation of participation. Individualized information will remain confidential in Employee Health/Infection Prevention records.
To meet this requirement, we are offering multiple opportunities for you to report your vaccine status. Numerous walk-in flu clinics will be offered at various locations during the months of October and November. On-site vaccinators will also be available for clinical and inpatient areas for employees assigned to those areas. Please inquire who the designated mobile immunizer is for the specific unit/department. Additionally, you can get your influenza vaccine by scheduling an appointment with Employee Health Services at x2893.
It is mandatory to bring your ID badge or have your employee number. You will be asked to choose one of the following options:
- Receive the flu shot
- Decline the flu shot
- State if you received the flu shot elsewhere
If you are unable to personally report your vaccine status, you may email your status to Louisa Pickett in Employee Health Services. Please provide the following information:
