    MDC Water Main through 195 Farmington and Shuttle Lot #3

    • The Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) and its contractors have started installing a new larger water supply for our campus. The pipeline work has been going on for over a year on the MDC reservoir property and is about to break through to Old Mountain Road.
    • The construction site from Farmington Avenue to Shuttle Lot 3 will be fenced off on Tuesday, September 2.
    • Pavement saw cutting and excavation work will start immediately at Farmington Avenue and work through to Circle Road.
    • Additional notices will be sent out as the work progresses detailing the parking impacts and shuttle bus.
    • The finished product includes final paving of the lot at 195 and a sidewalk through to Shuttle Lot #3.

     Steam Pipe installation between Building A and Building B

    • The contractor, Connecticut Boiler is in the process of installing a new underground steam pipe connecting Building A and Building B. The work requires a trench to be excavated between the two buildings adjacent to the new seating area at the former Building 20 site.
    • Saturday, September 2 the A/B parking lot, the public safety entrance and the east end “Building A stair tower will be closed in order to allow the contractor to x-ray the pipe welds. The scanning will be terminated and the stairwells opened if an emergency situation arises.
    • Please observe signs, safety fencing and barriers directing pedestrian travel.

    Academic Building Addition and Renovation

    • Construction continues on the wellness center in the areas of LM032, LM034 and LM036. Noise from normal construction activities is to be expected. If the noise is overly disruptive, please call Dave Semnoski, 540-841-4134.

    Main Building – Clinic (C) Area Renovations

    • Construction work for Phase 2 will continue on the 2nd, 1st, main and ground floors. Please follow directions on all posted signage and do not enter construction areas.
