Connecticut Tower (‘H’ Building) Caulking and Sealant Replacement
- Work on the Connecticut Tower to remove and replace the exterior precast panel joints continues. The contractor is working from suspended staging planks against the exterior of the building. Noise from grinding and scraping will be experienced as the work is executed. The work will continue through the end of July.
- There will be no impact to exterior activities around the building.
Building 20 – Plaza Construction
- Concrete and landscaping of Phase 1 has been completed and is open. Phase 2 will connect the plaza with the existing public safety sidewalk and will be completed late summer after some underground work is finished. The area will be outfitted with tables and umbrellas.
Academic Building Addition and Renovation
- Academic entry road: Between Wednesday, July 26, and Friday, July 28, the academic entry road will be under construction to prepare for repaving on Saturday, July 29. From Wednesday, July 26, through Friday, July 28, the contractor will maintain one lane of traffic and have a flagger to assist with traffic to the academic entrance and adjacent parking lots. Some disruption is to be expected. On Saturday, July 29, the academic entry road will be closed for paving.
- Construction continues on the wellness center in the areas of LM032, LM034 and LM036. Noise from normal construction activities is to be expected. If the noise is overly disruptive, please call Dave Semnoski, 540-841-4134.
Main Building – Clinic (C) Area Renovations
- The main lobby will be opening Monday, July 24. The elevators will return to serving all levels and the escalators will be back in service. The new lobby revolving doors will not be open until Monday July 31. Until then, please continue to use temporary main entrance doors. Construction work for Phase 2 will continue on the 2nd, 1st, main and ground floors. Please follow directions on all posted signage and do not enter construction areas.
Parking Lot A/B:
- Parking Lot A/B is currently closed for repairs and repaving. This work will be completed by approximately mid-August. People with Area 1 permits who typically use Lot A/B should plan to use Lots C, D and K, the employee sections of Garages 1, 2 or 3, and other Area 1 and Area 3 designated spaces on campus.
