Target Audience: occupational health professionals, primary care physicians and practitioners, health promotion professionals, health policy specialists.
Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to):
- Describe current trends in the prevalence of chronic health conditions in the US workforce.
- Describe the fundamental principles and elements of pain and illness self-management programs.
- Discuss barriers for implementing peer support and counseling programs in the workplace setting for workers with chronic or episodic illness.
