Today: Crane Activity on Munson Road
- As part of our continuing efforts to upgrade our mechanical systems, Performance Plumbing & Heating is on contract to replace two of our three cooling towers at Munson Road.
- All the work is being performed behind the scenes and will have little impact on our day to day operations. The first of these towers is scheduled to be replaced today, necessitating a crane and equipment truck to be positioned on the lower gravel road.
- Please be aware and observant of any safety barriers or equipment in the area.
L Building Shutdown:
WHAT: High- and low-pressure air and vacuum
WHERE: L Building, all floors
WHEN: Saturday, February 4, 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
WHY: Tie-in new piping in the penthouse.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: Secure all equipment dependent on air tables. Low pressure lab air or vacuum will not be available during this interruption.
Main Building – Lab (L) Renovations
- Casework and finishes are being installed on all floors.
- Penthouse mechanical installations are in progress.
- Construction drilling will occur sporadically during normal working hours. Noisy construction activities are scheduled to stop by 8 a.m. Users who are impeded by noise are encouraged to call John Banta 860-818-8857 or Steve Glanzrock at 860-227-6467.
Munson Road Roof Replacement
- Assembly of the new patio and rail system on Level 4 continues.
- Work to replace all the linear skylights is part of the contract and has not been scheduled.
Building 20 Demolition
- Work will continue as weather permits to prepare the site for the final restoration scheduled to take place this spring.
University Tower
Phase 2B work continues and consists of:
- Construction of new corridor through the former ED space, anticipated completion in the next 2 to 3 weeks.
Academic Building Addition and Renovation
- Saturday, February 4, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., site light poles will be installed outside Stair 3 in Lot A/B, outside Stair 2 Lot C, and at the new entrance of Lot C. Use the primary academic entrance during the installation of site light poles at Stair 2 and 3.
- There will be no access up or down from Stair 2 at the main level until February 10. Please use the stairs in the academic lobby to access the main level.
Clinic (C) Building Renovations
- The elevator at the main entrance no longer runs to the 2nd floor, but remains running to ground, main and 1st floor for the duration of renovations. Demolition work continues on the 2nd, 1st and main floors. Please follow directions on all posted signage and do not enter construction areas.
