Holidays for Heroes
The American Red Cross Holidays for Heroes program delivers cards of thanks and support to members of the armed forces, veterans and their families. Join the efforts of the Red Cross in sharing Season’s Greetings to local members of the military. Stop by the Student Services Center LM-035 and write a holiday card to send a message of gratitude and support. Deadline-November 30, 2016. Donations of holiday cards greatly appreciated. Save the Children “Make the World Better with a Sweater” Campaign
On December 16th attend a gathering hosted by Student Services. Donate $5.00 to Save the Children and wear your favorite Ugly Anything sweater! Holiday, Sports Team, Festive, Animal, Geometric, Seasonal, Anything as long as it’s ugly. Proceeds benefit Save the Children’s Make the World Better with a Sweater campaign. http://www.savethechildren.org
Prior to the gathering enter the Ugly Anything Sweater Contest! Submit a photo of yourself in your ugliest by December 9th to francini@uchc.edu. Voting will take place from December 12-16th. Annual Collection Drive to Benefit South Park Inn Shelter
The South Park Inn is located in Hartford and provides shelter for homeless men, women & children. For over 20 years UConn Health medical & dental students have managed a free, full coverage clinic that provides health care for the residents of the shelter. This year Student Services will be donating personal hygiene items in the form of personal care bags for the homeless. Collection deadline December 19th.
