Munson Road Escalator Repairs:
- The escalator upgrades and repairs have begun and will continue through the middle of November. Please use caution around any of the barricaded areas.
Munson Road Elevator Repairs:
- Work to repair the elevators is underway. The repair is anticipated to be complete in 4 weeks.
Munson Road Roof Replacement:
- The crane and dumpsters located on the first and second levels will remain for another two weeks while demo work continues at night. Do not move barriers or barricades.
- Demolition has started on the 5th floor plaza and will continue through Monday, October 31 and Tuesday, November 1, next week.
- The 5th, 2nd floor roofs are nearing completion while work continues on the new 3rd floor roof.
- Periods of hammer drilling and/or saw work will occur over the next few weeks in various areas.
- Workers continue to remove and reinstall the exterior caulking via the boom lift concentrating on the upper main entrance area. Please observe all barriers.
- All entrances to the building will remain open and please be observant of construction equipment carting materials around the building.
ARB New Boiler Installation:
- Pedestrian and vehicle access to the East Loading Dock will be impacted on Monday, October 31. Paving will take place next to the boiler room doorway. Pedestrian access to the East Dock staff door will be directed around paving operations. Please obey all signage and follow revised pedestrian pathways. Main Building – Lab (L) Renovations:
- Stairwell LS4: Will be closed except for emergency access until mid-November due to rewiring of existing lighting circuits. Lower sections of the stairs will be opened as work is completed. Please refer to signage and evacuation plans at each level on the stairwell doors. Alternative evacuation plans are identified in the event of an emergency.
- Construction drilling will occur sporadically during normal working hours. Noisy construction activities are scheduled to stop by 8 a.m. Users who are impeded by noise are encouraged to call John Banta at 860-818-8857 or Steve Glanzrock at 860-227-6467.
Repaving of Parking Lots D and K – UPDATED DATES:
- Parking Lot D will be closed for repaving from Monday, October 31 to approximately Wednesday, November 9. Please review the alternate parking recommendations and additional shuttle information provided by the Parking, Transportation and Event Services office in the UConn Health Lifeline.
- After Parking Lot D has been reopened, Parking Lot K will be closed from Thursday, November 10 to approximately Wednesday, November 23. In addition to scheduled maintenance and repaving, surface lot construction associated with the Academic Building addition and the entrance to A/B Lot will be completed and in this immediate area as well.
- Please drive carefully in these areas during this time and be conscious of additional construction vehicle traffic. Thank you for your patience while we complete these improvements to our campus.
UConn Musculoskeletal Building, 1st Floor – 3T MRI Outpatient Suite Renovation:
- This project is complete with the exception of final regulatory review and approvals.
University Tower:
Phase 2B Work Continues and Consists of:
- Construction of new corridor through the former ED space.
Academic Building Addition and Renovation:
Building Addition Activities:
- The contractor is in the process of removing the temporary access road. When entering A Lot, please follow construction signs to stay to the right and adhere to the one-way traffic pattern.
Clinic (C) Building Renovations:
- The Main Lobby is closed for renovations. Access through the lobby is scheduled to be complete by the end of this year. Construction areas are closed and restricted to construction personnel only. Please follow signs for the designated detours around construction areas.
- The elevator at the main entrance no longer runs to the 2nd floor, but remains running to Ground, Main and 1st floor for the duration of renovations.
- Demolition work continues on the 2nd, 1st and Main floors. Please follow directions on all posted signage and do not enter construction areas.
