Research, Funding, and Awards

  • Grant Competition for Open Educational Resources

The Provost's Office is pleased to announce grant opportunities to recognize and encourage UConn faculty and instructors who commit to the creation, adaptation, adoption, and review of Open Educational Resources (OER) in their courses. This program will also encourage award winners to participate in a conference hosted by UConn to share how they developed these materials and provide opportunities to distribute them to those teaching in public and private institutions across the state.

The Provost’s Office is providing $100,000 to fund awards, and an additional $20,000 is being provided by the Library through a Davis Educational Foundation grant.

Awards range from $1,000-$10,000 for faculty and instructors of all ranks and campuses who transition their courses to OER materials. The dollar amount is determined based on the impact on lowering costs for UConn students.

Applications are being accepted now through October 14th, winners to be announced on October 29th.
