  • Do You Know a Teenager Who Seems Worried or Sad?

UConn Health is inviting families with adolescents (12-18 years), whose worry, stress, or sadness makes their life harder, to participate in COMET (Community Study of Outcome Monitoring for Emotional Disorders in Teens). COMET is a study funded by the National Institutes of Mental Health, taking place in community clinics in CT that evaluates three treatments for teens with anxiety and/or depression.

Interested families will meet with study staff for a free evaluation to determine if the study is a good fit. If eligible, participating teenagers will receive one of three types of talk therapy for 16 weekly sessions (50 minutes each). During and after treatment, families will meet with study staff 3 more times to see if his/her anxiety or depression has improved. There is no medication involved in this study. Families may earn up to $220 in gift cards for participating.

For more information, please contact the COMET study team by phone (860) 523-6441 or email COMET@uchc.edu.
