Important University-Wide Announcements

  • Accommodations Request Process

    Dear Colleagues:

The University of Connecticut is committed to ensuring that individuals with disabilities have equal access to all educational and employment opportunities. In alignment with state and federal laws, we provide reasonable accommodations and review each request through an individualized, interactive process to support full participation in University programs and activities.

To support a consistent and coordinated approach moving forward, effective Monday, March 2, 2026, this process transitioned from Human Resources at UConn and UConn Health to the Office for Inclusion and Civil Rights (OICR, formerly the Office of Institutional Equity).

OICR will facilitate the interactive accommodation process for all University employees, including those at regional campuses and UConn Health. OICR will also manage accommodation requests from job applicants. This transition has been carefully planned in partnership with Human Resources to ensure continuity of service and minimal disruption to the University community.

For additional details about this transition, as well as ongoing updates, resources, and guidance, please visit the OICR Accessibility Website. The site will serve as a centralized hub for ADA- and disability-related resources, along with relevant University policies and procedures related to accessibility and accommodations.

If you have questions or would like support during this transition, OICR is available to assist and can be reached at equity@uconn.edu or 860-486-2943.
