This is an important message to all UConn Health employees regarding your 2025 tax forms:
FORM W-2
Electronic W-2 forms for 2025 are now available in Core-CT for all active employees.
Once logged into Core-CT, click on the “Payroll” tile, then click the “W-2/W-2c Forms” tile. When you click the tile, it will show the form for the most recent tax year. Above the “View Form” button there is a Tax Year drop down that allows you to select a different tax year. The drop down will include all available current and prior W-2/W-2c forms dating back to 2011. Once a form is opened, employees may view, save, or print it at any time.
New overtime reporting: Qualified overtime will be reported on your 2025 W-2 in Box 14OBBBTT. “Qualified overtime” under the IRS means only the FLSA‑required overtime premium paid for hours over the FLSA threshold, not the full overtime wage. For example, the “half” portion in typical time‑and‑a‑half overtime. Also, only overtime that is required by FLSA (generally hours worked over 40 in a workweek for non‑exempt employees) can be qualified overtime. Overtime paid solely because of a collective bargaining agreement or employer policy is not treated as qualified overtime. Therefore, please be aware that the total overtime on your pay stub will not match the qualified overtime that appears on your W-2 and is not a mistake.
Caution: To avoid security risks when accessing Core-CT (https://corect.ct.gov/), always access it by entering the address directly into your web browser, through the link on UConn Health’s Payroll webpage, or a link posted on an official State of Connecticut website. NEVER access it through a link emailed to you claiming to be from Core-CT because emailed links could be a phishing scam.
Note: For your added security, W-2s issued by the state of Connecticut no longer show your complete social security number (SSN). Only the last 4 digits of your SSN will appear on the form, even when you view forms for prior years.
Employees who encounter any difficulties in signing into Core-CT, resetting a password or other technical issues, should please contact the IT Service Desk (x4400).
For employees who still receive a printed W-2 form, it will be mailed by the Office of the State Comptroller no later than Jan. 31.
FORM 1095-C
Each year, the state of Connecticut is required to send Form 1095-C to all employees who are deemed eligible for health insurance based on the Employer Shared Responsibility Provision of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Forms will be mailed by the end of March 2026.
You do NOT have to attach Form 1095-C with your submitted federal income tax return. However, please keep the form with your income tax documents should the IRS or your tax advisors have a question regarding your coverage in the future.
