The Department of Medicine is recruiting participants for a research project to study different therapies for the treatment of hypothyroidism which may reduce body weight, serum cholesterol, and improve quality of life.
Must be:
- 18 years or older
- Able to travel to UConn Health
- Be on stable thyroid replacement therapy
Qualifying participants will receive treatment for hypothyroidism for the duration of the study (6 months).
Timing:
- 6 outpatient visits
- 4 laboratory visits
- No compensation will be provided
- Participants will receive free study drugs, thyroid hormone and lipid panel analyses for the duration of participation in the study.
