Dear Friend,
We are a research team from UConn’s Department of Human Development and Family Sciences conducting a group-based mindfulness and yoga intervention research (IRB: H25-0274) aimed at promoting the mental and physical well-being of Chinese international students. The entire program will be conducted in Mandarin and held in person at the UConn Storrs campus.
You will receive up to $105 in compensation for your time and effort.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Aged 18–29
- Currently enrolled full-time as a Chinese international student at UConn Storrs
- Can read simplified Chinese and speak mandarin fluently
- Currently experiencing stress
You may not be eligible if you:
- are experiencing acute mental illness and not receiving recommended treatment;
- have joined a mindfulness or yoga program lasting over four weeks in the past two years;
- have a chronic medical condition that limits physical activity.
What You’ll Do:
- Complete three online surveys (before the program, after the program, and one-month follow-up)
- Participate in two short in-person computerized attention tests (before and after the program)
- Join a four-week group-based mindfulness and yoga course in Mandarin
